Teles Properties’ unwavering commitment to community is evidenced by the work of its altruistic members. One member in particular, real estate agent Casey Lesher of Newport Beach, is exemplifying this commitment through his work with the Corona Del Mar Chamber of Commerce. More specifically, through his undertaking of three major philanthropic events in 2012.

“The Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce is very proud to have the support of Casey Lesher throughout the years. Casey’s generous contributions to the community and his active membership has been a true example of a dynamic community partner. Casey’s strategic business knowledge and dedication to the community he serves is truly a pleasure and undoubtedly contributes to his successes in the Real Estate,” says Linda Leonhard, President, Corona Del Mar Chamber of Commerce.

On June 2nd, Lesher will sponsor the 31st Annual Corona del Mar 5k, where people from all over the state are invited to participate. Presented by the Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce and City of Newport Beach, this event draws thousands of people each year for a scenic race (or walk as some may prefer) along the enchanting streets of Corona Del Mar. The race ends along the bluffs of Big Corona State Beach with restaurant row, merchant booths and live entertainment for all to enjoy afterward. Proceeds from the event assist community youth, senior and business programs.

In September, Lesher sponsors the Coastline Car Classic, a seaside celebration of the automotive pursuit. This highly publicized and very worthwhile charitable event provides a meaningful contribution to the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. Established in 1982, the foundation is dedicated to improving the care, quality of life and survival rate of children with malignant diseases. For more information on the foundation, please visit http://www.pcrf-kids.org/

To close the year, Lesher will sponsor the 34th Annual Corona Del Mar Christmas Walk, benefitting the U.S. Marines Toys-for-Tots Program. The event draws thousands of people to the streets of Corona del Mar to enjoy a variety of live entertainment including musicians, stilt walkers, balloon artists, carolers, dancers, bounce houses, vendors, opportunity drawings, Santa visits, and much more. This year, visitors are strongly encouraged to bring unwrapped toys to one of the many drop stations throughout the village. For more information on U.S. Marines Toys-for-Tots Program, please visit http://www.toysfortots.org/

The Corona del Mar Chamber of Commerce serves as a strategic business resource dedicated to developing the local business environment and enhancing the quality of life in Corona del Mar. The Chamber works closely with the Business Improvement District and the City of Newport Beach. They continue to take a strong position to preserve the charming seaside village atmosphere while supporting the enhancements of physical improvements and new trends in the heart of the village.

In the spirit of Pasadena’s successful “Put the Fork in Hunger” Food Drive, which collected close to 5 tons of food for people in need, its founders are organizing another drive which promises to be a success: The “Put the Fork in Hunger” Toy Drive. The drive, led by Teles Properties‘ real estate agent Philip Coombes, is a collaborative effort between the community and three local charities including Union Station Homeless Services, Five Acres and the AIDS Service Center, which support the homeless, children and their families, and AIDS related issues respectively.

On the weekend of December 10th, the public is invited to drive by and drop off unwrapped toys at a value of $10.00 or more to volunteers. Volunteers will be collecting toys from 8AM until 4PM on both Saturday and Sunday at “Fork Plaza” 200 Bellefontaine located just South of Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. The best gifts are those suitable for children and teens ages 5 through 17.

“We are so excited about the Toy Drive!” said Anthony Guthmiller, Director of Development & Marketing at the AIDS Service Center. “We could not do the work that we do without the continued and generous support of the community. Awareness is critical to not only caring for those affected by HIV/AIDS, but also in the stopping of the disease.”

The AIDS Service Center serves an increasing diverse population and provides services appropriate to a wide range of cultures, lifestyles and languages. They work hard to provide social services including health care, mental health counseling, family support, housing and legal assistance, transportation services, treatment advocacy/education and food distribution for thousands in need.

Another organization behind the “Put the Fork in Hunger” Toy Drive is Five Acres, a child and family services agency here in Los Angeles. Their work strengthens families and prevents child abuse through treatment and education in community-based and residential programs. Originally established as an orphanage in 1888, today Five Acres offers an array of services including a residential treatment center, a non-public WASC-accredited school, mental health services, foster care, adoption services and domestic violence prevention.

“Five Acres is grateful to the generous people of greater Los Angeles who are helping to ensure that abused, neglected and vulnerable children know that someone cares about them this holiday. Thank you for sharing the true spirit of the season,” said Cathy Clement, Director of Philanthropy at Five Acres.

Teles Properties was formed in 2007 to create a dynamic partnership between client, agent and company – a partnership with purpose unlike any other. One of the main components is giving back to our neighborhoods and communities, which is part of the Teles’ Gives Back campaign. By developing an interactive relationship with our communities where we live, we are able to make a difference as well as raise the experience for our clients to a whole new level of unparalleled service.

PASADENA, November 22, 2011

Under Teles’ Real Estate Agent, Phillip Coombes leadership, the “Put the Fork in Hunger” campaign produced over 10,300 pounds of food last weekend for the Pasadena Union Station Homeless Services. According to Rabbi Marvin Gross, the Union Station’s chief executive officer, the food collected by the campaign will provide an estimated 10,000 meals for people across the area. Much of the donations will be used for the Station’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner event.

The drive was held in Pasadena where Pasadena and Saint John avenues diverge, the current home of the now-famous “Fork in the Road” sculpture. Two years ago, Coombes, and his friends Bob Stane and Ken Marshall celebrated the art sculpture by organizing the first “Put the Fork in Hunger” food drive which generated two tons of food. Two years later, the drive has nearly tripled its takings for the community.

“We at Teles Properties are very happy to be involved in this worthwhile food drive. We all know it has been a challenging economic environment. Yet, the real estate community is known for its outreach and giving back to the communities we work in and love,” said Phillip Coombes. “As the Holiday season approaches, we reflect on all we have to be thankful for, and to help those in need. Please join us as we work to make the “Put a Fork in Hunger” food drive a wildly successful event”

Last year, the fork was missing from the food drive due to its removal for refurbishment, but returned in time for this year’s drive. “Now that the fork is up permanently, we’re talking about doing a bunch of things throughout the year, maybe once a quarter, whether it’s a food drive or a toy drive that we have planned to launch tentatively in December,” said Coombes.

Teles Properties provides an incomparable experience throughout Southern California with offices in Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Newport Beach and Pasadena. Its leadership team brings a broad spectrum of knowledge in technology, research, finance, legal services and luxury residential sales to the forefront of real estate. The company welcomes only the most productive, talented, and professional agents and staff. Together, the Teles team uses its experience to give clients the finest buying or selling experience possible. For more information about Teles Properties, visit telesproperties.com. To contact Phillip Coombes directly, call 877.744.5373 or email phil.coombes@telesproperties.com

“With my extensive background in international immigration law, I have continually supported legislation that encourages foreign investors to come to the U.S. as an engine for development of a solid national economy,” stated Peter Loewy, CEO of Teles Properties. “I created our International Division to assist investors in the purchase of homes and businesses as a means to encourage and spur the growth of the American economy. To that end we have assembled a team of advisors and international contacts in the legal, financial and accounting industries to work with Teles real estate agents and our International Buyers Program to facilitate the investment process and to simplify what might be a daunting task without the correct advisory team.”

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – September 14, 2011 – The Board of Directors of Teles Properties has selected Sharran Srivatsaa as the firm’s new Chief Operating Officer. Srivatsaa will focus on the firm’s core offerings that consist of technology, marketing, and integrated operations. Additionally, he will be responsible for Teles’ corporate finance strategy and is charged with building the firm’s proprietary research and analytics platform.

Srivatsaa joins Teles after spending several years at Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs, where he focused on working with management teams of fast-growing businesses across the country on strategic planning and corporate finance. In addition to his Wall Street experience, Sharran brings a deep technology background from his time working with founding teams of cutting-edge companies in Silicon Valley such as Lightera (acquired by telecom giant CIENA) and international mobile-payment powerhouse, Obopay.
